My To Do List

Saturday, July 19, 2008

To some people this might be a bucket list...but I prefer the 'to do list' or the 'anti-bucket list' (very original, I know) because the titles don't include counting down till the day I die.  Such is my brain's feeble attempt to keep things upbeat.  These are in no particular order, and some of them I just thought of right now so it might be a little rambling.

1. To make my life important
2. To stop pretending like I'm too athletic-y to do yoga and just try it
3. Explore the power I have to change the world (dream big!)
4. To write a book
5. To send a card to PostSecret
6. Make my own place and learn to meditate
7. Try Accupunture
8. Volunteer to rock babies at the Children's Home Society
9. Fly in a private jet
10. Call my mom/granny more often

11. Purchase and Reread Tuesdays With Morrie
12. To make my house look like a Pottery Barn Catalog
13. To cure cancer
 (yes, that's Chuck Norris)
14. Get a camera
15. Pay off credit card debt and make a monthly budget
16.  Read real literature and poetry, not just whatever I see in the bookstore
17. Learn how to use punctuation correctly (not so many parentheses and exclamation points!)
18. Learn to speak Spanish fluently/travel to Spanish speaking country
19. Choose someone to be an icon
20. Keep adding to the list!

So there you have it, my inner workings.  Hopefully the list grows and shrinks substantially as I think of more things and accomplish them!  Some of these things are ongoing so they'll never get crossed off, but I think they're good standards to have.

I think everyone should have a list, it gives you something to do when you're bored...you can either be writing it or attempting to do everything on it!  It gives you something to strive for and makes you think of things that are beyond right now.  So what would your list be?

To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.

Your life is already important. You can scratch that one off the list!
